Help with learning English Language at home

Private English Language Tutoring.  In some cases it is not possible for a learner to attend classes within the community or they may simply have a need for one-to-one tutoring.  In such circumstances arrangements can be made for a specialist tutor to teach within the learner's home.

How does it work?   Where more than one learner is present, the host or hostess may qualify for discount rates.

During an initial consultation with the learner or their representative, the LifeSight Training ESOL tutor will discuss the learner's requirements and present a proposal as to how those requirements may be met through one or more ESOL tutoring courses held in the home.

Generally these are fifteen-week courses consisting of weekly two-hour sessions that are renewable subject to agreement.  The first session consists of anassessment to determine the current English Literacy level of the learner which will provide the basis for delivery of the lessons over the coming weeks.

Removing any "fear" of examinations, LifeSight Training provide courses on a non-certified basis with the learners receiving a course completion certificate at the end of the course.  If the learner then wishes to pursue a recognized qualification, they are directed to the nearest appropriate provider of such services.

The only requirements from the learners are a) Pen, b) Paper, c) an appropriate learning environment and c) to attend!  All teaching/learning materials are provided and are aligned to the  ESOL Adult Core Curriculum provided by the Education Department.

The appropriate learning environment would ideally include a projection surface, a whiteboard and of course, sufficient tables and chairs.  Not every home will have these of course, so the tutor will improvise as necessary.  The ideal class size is two to four learners at any one time.
