Digging into the iPhone Hardware
I don't know how they do such things, but they have managed to produce a screen to work the iPhone instead of keys – a 9cm liquid display touch screen (HVGA). When I heard about this screen I was concerned about damage in use and such like, but to some degree at least, this has been catered for in building anti-scratch into it. That does not mean it would be totally protected against everything, but it should resist scratches up to a moderate level. The touch aspect of the screen has a need not to be covered with something in order for your fingers to interact with the screen properly. You don't just touch the screen either. If you are familiar with mouse gestures, then you will understand what I mean when I say that you can do gestures on the iPhone too, but this time, with your fingers on the screen. Moving, zooming, dragging, are typical such actions.
Similar to current featured smartphones, the device also has headphones but with an added microphone. Basing on the microphone, there is a button which serves to be multipurpose and can be used to stop, pause or play a particular song. The button can also answer several phone calls and end one and skip music that you don’t like, which all can be done without even touching the phone. Earpieces, wireless in nature, which is supported by Bluetooth application, can communicate with the device and are separately sold although, it does not support stereo audio.
If there was one disappointment, it would be that the Bluetooth medium of communicating with the handset does not provide stereo when listening to the music. Whilst on the subject of communicating with the iPhone without directly touching it, it comes with headphones that incorporate a microphone and a button used for both call answering and conventional controls for the music.
Unlike a lot of phones, the battery cannot be replaced by the user. Instead it is rechargable. Apple will replace the battery free of charge for you, but only whilst it is within the warranty period. If the battery needs replacing after that time, then Apple will charge an all inclusive fee. The big disadvantage of course, is that you are without your phone during that time.
Depending on where the iPhone is sourced, the SIM card could either be found in an open slot or locked which restricts the network.
Typical of gadgets today, memory gets bigger and bigger. The Apple iPhone started with 4GB but was then distributed with 8GB.
