Not Just your Average iPhone Camera
Apple seem to have considered the camera and photography aspect as an extra rather than build it into the efficiency of original design. Quality of the photographs taken with the iPhone is restricted within the confines of its 2 megapixel ability and manipulating the actual process of taking the photograph using the touch screen rather than pressing a physical button. Added to the poor reviews are the fact that the camera does not support zoom or flash photography and has a distinct lag in processing between the time the icon is touched on the screen and the time the photoraph is actually taken. All of this rather spoils the idea that the camera is always ready for any photographic occasion and spoils spontaneity. When the light is low such as indoor or evening shots outside, the results become very grainy.
If we closed our eyes to these issues, then we might be swayed into purchase with the ease of sharing and viewing photographs on the iPhone (they can easily be displayed on websites). It would seem that Apple have shown more interested in viewing and distribution of photographs than in the quality of the photographs themselves.
